For the third-quarter meeting of the FMLC’s High Level Advisory Group on Brexit, held on 3 July 2017, the FMLC was delighted to welcome, as keynote speaker, Dr Andrea Entner-Koch, Director of the European Economic Area (“E.E.A.”) Coordination Unit in the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Dr Entner-Koch’s presentation provided an overview of the processes and obligations of being an E.E.A. Member State which trades closely with the E.U. She spoke about the method by which E.E.A. Member States implement E.U. law and the E.E.A. institutions which provide regulatory oversight. Of particular relevance to the financial services markets, she noted, was the method in which the E.E.A. States incorporated guidance provided by the European Supervisory Authorities. Dr Entner-Koch’s presentation is available to view here.
