Welcome to the FMLC Website
“The Financial Markets Law Committee is a registered charity committed to advancing understanding of financial markets law. We identify issues of legal uncertainty affecting wholesale financial markets—including inconsistencies between draft law or regulation and actual market practice—and make proposals for resolving them. Promoting a sound legal and regulatory infrastructure is at the forefront of what we do, but we also seek to educate the markets, judiciary and general public: all of our reports, research and correspondence are freely available here.
We value your feedback. If you have any comments or suggestions, please contact the FMLC Secretariat.“
Dr Joanna Perkins
FMLC Chief Executive
Owing to the circumstances around COVID-19, the FMLC has taken the decision to cancel all Scoping Forum meetings, colloquiums, seminars and other events scheduled for the month of March. The Secretariat will continue to work on ongoing research projects, including monitoring and responding to Consultations and facilitating the drafting of publications through Working Groups. We will update this space as plans for coming months become clearer.
The Secretariat continues to function remotely at full capacity. Should you wish to draw the Committee’s attention to a specific area of legal uncertainty affecting the wholesale financial markets, please email Venessa at email@example.com.
More information is available on this page which will be updated on a regular basis.
The Secretariat has convened a stakeholder teleconference to discuss issues arising in the context of the pandemic at 2pm on 29 April. Should you wish to join this call, or are interested in joining future calls please email Debbie at firstname.lastname@example.org
As we have had many expressions of interest in the stakeholder call convened on 29 April, it is proposed to hold two or three further calls for ease of moderation, each following an identical format. A second call has now been scheduled to take place on 13 May at 3pm. Should you wish to join this call, or are interested in joining future calls please email Debbie at email@example.com
